A cup or two of organic green tea a day is very good. Green tea contains powerful antioxidants and only minimal amounts of caffeine. Other organic herbal teas are wonderful too. Try peppermint, roasted dandelion, chamomile, rose hip, ginger, verbena (melissa), lavender etc... Bambu from Vogel is a great coffee alternative made from chicory, dried figs and acorns...yum! Enjoy!Warm regards,Iva

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for your message.

It’s best to avoid processed food and drinks of any kind during preconception care and pregnancy. Also, I had read that green tea was good for fertility. Should I use a de-caff version or stop altogether?RegardsDawn

Eva

I have been drinking Clipper de-caff coffe as it says that it only uses water and CO2 to get rid of the caffeine ie no heavy metals etc. Should I stop drinking this, too? Everything both you and your partner eat, drink, inhale and get exposed to in those 120 days will impact the quality of your eggs and sperm. So it’s best to stoop drinking coffee and using other chemicals I write about during the preconception time. This way the risks associated with drinking coffee will not affect your baby. Also the last thing you want to do is start detoxing while pregnant as all the toxins will be releasing and entering baby’s circulation and his or her underdeveloped body. So it pays to prepare. I can help you further with this if you require more information.

Thanks for your message Anonimo.

As to your question, if drinking a lot of water on the day of ovulation would make the negative effects of coffee go away – the short answer is – no.

It takes 120 days for a new egg to mature and a new batch of sperm to be produced. My wife is ovulating and we both want to have a baby. Honestly, what should I do? Should I still conceive? This all sounds very scary because of the amount of time it takes to clear ones body from these chemicals. What if I start drinking a lot of water on the day I have had coffee and want to conceive that very day? Please let me know. Thank you in advance.

I am currently drinking too much coffee. Probably more than 2-3 cups a day. My wife is ovulating and we both want to have a baby.
