Detoxing
I’ve had such a tremendously positive response from my lovely clients doing the program that I got inspired to do the detox myself, out of solidarity to you, so that you don’t feel you are doing it alone! ![]()
The cool thing to say would be; ‘I can feel your pain’ but, the truth is, I’m so relieved I’ve had this food intolerance revealed to me as a result of the detox that I need to share my story with you.
I’ve never been a big milk drinker, but I ate cheese and yoghurt regularly. If you’ve read my program you know why. Recently I came across a study which listed a long list of hormones found in dairy. Some of the hormones are produced by cows and some are given to cows to make them grow big and strong in a short space of time. I was disgusted by the list and suffice to say I didn’t want those things in my body anymore.
Dairy is the most mucus forming food of all foods found in the human diet. It can play havoc with your cervical mucus by making it sperm unfriendly, congest your reproductive tract (contribute to endometriosis and PCOS), coat your intestines and prevent valuable nutrients from being absorbed, congest your respiratory tract: sniffly nose, productive cough, blocked sinuses, asthma etc…
So I’ve removed it completely from my diet as part of the detox and this time for good!
After 2 weeks of not eating any dairy products, I woke up one night with this congested feeling in my lungs. It felt like I was getting a lung infection but without the shortness of breath or pain or fever (tell -tell signs of an infection). The symptoms were only my lungs clearing the excess mucus which formed from years of eating dairy.
This is what happens in the body when you stop feeding it foods it doesn’t like. Your body goes into spring cleaning mode, clearing and eliminating toxins and byproducts of that food.
This just goes to show that 99.9% of the times we are not even aware that we are intolerant to a food until we completely remove it. And we really need to give our body some time to register what’s happening. In my case it was two weeks before the lungs were addressed!
By uncovering which foods are bad for your fertility and your health you’ll blossom from within!
Happy Detoxing, hang in there, it’s so worth it! ![]()

I hear of many benefits deriving from detox. My naturopathic doctor even recommended a liver detox for inflammation and TTC. Only she recommended herbs that are not to be taken while TTC. And a rice protein shake that has Turmeric in it. Which, I think should be avoided at this time. ??
I would love to know an excellent regimen (food, supplements) to do to detox the body. Does anyone have some helpful suggestions?
Thanks!
Hi Eve,
Thanks for your question. I recommend to my clients to detox before they try to get pregnant. This is because during the detox toxins stored in your tissue will start to circulate in your bloodstream where they can harm the egg (and sperm in men) and the embryo if you conceive. Liver detox should be completed before you TTC, as then you can also take the effective liver herbs which may be contraindicated during pregnancy. Turmeric has fantastic antioxidant properties and can be eaten as spice in food while TTC, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Some studies suggest that excessive intake can cause uterine contractions and promote menstruation, so don’t have it in excessive amounts. For more details on the detox I recommend to my clients go here: http://ht.ly/1XOpa
Good luck with the detox!
